Look around your house for light
We have an empty lot next to our home and Jocelyn was gathering rocks for her "collection". Then she started picking up weeds and giving them to me like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The sun was setting and I noticed that these weeds were brilliant in the golden hour of the day. Quickly I set up a dark background on our fence and using a 50mm 1.8 on my Canon 20D I started shooting these normally ugly weeds. The light was amazing on my subject as I played with the composition, depth of field and critical focus.
From there we went inside and the windows on the East were providing more great light. Jocelyn and Sam are both quite creative. I let Jocelyn set up the camera and to watch her pose me "the professional", stand back, get the shot and exclaim "that's perfect!" She had me in stitches.

Ashley get Senioritis
Wow Ashley!
I often joke that I only photograph good looking people and Ashley arrived with a dynamite smile and fabulous attitude. We had a great time cruising around downtown and the Salt Lake Temple for those amazing flowers that Spring provides.
It is always a blast photographing Seniors because of their hope for the future. We talked about her plans (and her parent's plans for her), jobs and the like.
Thanks Ashley, I had a blast!
